OUR FARM

Buddington Farm was taken on by Robert Renwick in 1958. It was passed on to his son James in 1992, which he has been managing ever since with his wife, Catherine and their four children. The farm produces milk from our dairy farm and also grows potatoes.

Our dairy would not be so efficient without our dedicated herdsmen Lewis and his family. It creates two families with a common passion to make our dairy the best it can possibly be. In 2018 we decided to invest in two Lely Astronaut Robotic Milkers. These automatic milkers allow our cows to choose when they wish to be milked. This system improves our herd wellfare and farm efficiency.

Our herd of 120 Holstein Friesein cows milk themselves daily.

THE VENDING MACHINE

We have installed a DF Italia milk vending machine in one of the oldest buildings on the farm dating back as far as the 1700's, where it was used as a calf rearing pen for many years. We have made the building a clean area to sell our milk whilst maintaining it's beautiful history.

Our milk will be sold as whole milk which has been gently pasteurised and non-homogenised.

The vendor is self serviced, allowing you to purchase the freshest pasterurised milk possible, which has been chilled and ready for consumption.

We will be selling one litre reusable glass bottles from a bottle dispensor which will be located next to the milk vending machine, these are priced at £2.00 per bottle. Once you have your bottle you simply place it in the compartment, select the amount of milk you wish to have (either 1/2 litre or 1 litre), then pay through our contactless reader or insert coins (change is available).

-We will be selling our milk at £1.20 per litre-

THE PROCESS

FAQs

We will also be selling fresh free range eggs from a local hen farm located in Bepton called Poppy's Poultry. The welfare of the chickens are their number one priority, allowing them to roam free from dawn till dusk within the beautiful countryside of the South Downs National Park, only coming indoors at night for their safety. Their packaging is with paper which is sourced from FSC certified forests and recycled paper, meaning it can be composted and recycled again.

And also we offer Buddington Farms own homegrown potatoes which have been harvested in late September and early October every year and stored in our cold store to retain their freshness. They are then bagged in 12.5kg sacks and placed in our milk vending machine room on the same day. These potatoes are a large size and perfect for anything from baked potato/roast potatoes to chips.
